Giorgos Sardelis, born in 1976, in Athens,
Greece, started with sports on a very early age (soccer, basketball and
volleyball). He is a graduate of the Medical School of Belgrade, Serbia,
(1995-2001) and specialized to Medical Microbiology/Biopathology and working
for the largest hospital in Athens, Greece. He has also one year GP practice, in the Greek countryside with one
month rotation in internal medicine and surgery respectively.
He started practicing
Kick boxing in 1996, when he also tried the basics of boxing and Shotokan
Karate. Later he also tried Judo. In 1998 started practicing Aikido and Ki
development, under Goran Kurnik. He also practiced Aikikai Aikido for some time under
Rank Lasitsa. In 1999, he met Sensei George Koliopoulos 6.
Dan Aikikai Hombu Dojo and he entered the FukuShinKan dojo of Athens, becoming
a full active member after completing his studies and returning to Greece in
2001. He also trained under Dimitris Georgiadis 4. Dan Aikikai Hombu Dojo,
(student of Koliopoulos sensei) at the Zenshinkan dojo, Mytilene, Greece. In
2007 he acquired the 1st Dan Aikikai Hombu Dojo and in 2010 the 2nd Dan Aikikai
Hombu Dojo.
In 2009, he established the website
“Aikicosmos”, devoted to Aikikai Aikido and in 2016 he created a personal
project called ‘Budo Greece’.
He became a member of the Aikido Tokaido Dojo
in 2012 under the guidance of Petros Moulagiannis 5. Dan Aikikai Hombu Dojo and
Nikos Klappas 4. Dan Aikikai Hombu Dojo and he is a founding member of the
Hellenic Aikido Union under the technical direction of Michel Erb 6. Dan
Aikikai Hombu Dojo- a personal student of Christian Tissier 8. Dan Aikikai
Hombu Dojo, Shihan.
Throughout his training in Aikido, he has
attended many seminars in Greece and abroad with senior instructors such as the
great-grandson of the Founder, Waka-Sensei Mitsuteru Ueshiba, S. Sugawara
Sensei, T. Mori Sensei and Y. Kobayashi Sensei from Aikikai Hombu and also the
official of the International Aikido Federation P. Goldsbury Sensei, K. Izawa
Sensei, W. Vriesman Sensei, and J. Rogers Sensei. He has also attended seminars
under the instructions of C. Tissier, M. Ikeda, M. Minegishi, K. Igarashi, K.
Shirakawa, T. Suga, D. Waite, T. Kuroki, U. Evenås, B. E. Olsen, W. Smith, G.
Jones, P. Brady, P. Smith, M. Erb and P. Guillemin.
In 2016, Giorgos Sardelis made real an
additional dream of his and started practicing Kendo at the Furyu Dojo Athens
under the instructions of Spiros Drossoulakis Iaido 6. Dan, Kendo 4. Dan, Shotokan Karate 4. Dan - personal student of Oda Katsuo
Iaido Hanshi 8. Dan, Kendo Kyoshi 7. Dan- and his assistants Apostolos
Karagiannis Iaido 4. Dan, Kendo 4. Dan and Michael Padras Iaido 5. Dan, Kendo 4. Dan,
Jodo 2. Dan.
Giorgos Sardelis loves photography,
filmography, blogging, while he has built simple websites and creates event’s
posters. He is also a studier of the Japanese martial arts history and culture.
He attended the educational program "PHOTOGRAPHY: TECHNOLOGY AND BASIC TECHNIQUES" (academic year 2017-2018) and graduated on May 25th 2018 successfully from the Supplementary Distance Education Programme (E-Learning) of the Center of Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning of the NATIONAL and KAPODISTRIAN UNIVERSITY of ATHENS.

recognizes the Doshu as the foremost authority on Aikido.

recognized the Aikido World Headquarters - Aikikai Foundation, Tokyo, as the
parent organization for the development and expansion of Aikido throughout the
world.
Aikicosmos
recognizes the International Aikido Federation (IAF) as the world federation of
Aikido organizations, which are directly affiliated to the Aikido World
Headquarters – Aikikai Foundation. Aikicosmos recognizes the IAF as the only
worldwide federation of such Aikido organizations, which represents Aikido,
Doshu and the Aikido World Headquarters-Aikikai Foundation, Tokyo to the globe.
Aikicosmos
transmits information about legal bodies and physical persons under the world
umbrella of the Aikido World Headquarters – Aikikai Foundation, Tokyo.
Aikicosmos does
not follow other martial arts or other local, national or international
organizations, which use the name of Aikido, away from the legitimacy, provided
by the Doshu Moriteru Ueshiba.
Aikicosmos is a
non-political, non-profit, informational media on aikido.
Aikicosmos does
not discriminate between individuals, nationalities, races or religious
beliefs.
OBJECT:
The principal object
of Aikicosmos is to support the actual practice of Aikido by providing
information about Aikido as it is preserved and promoted by the Aikido Doshu
Moriteru Ueshiba.

a distant position in issues arising between local associations or national

LANGUAGE:
Aikicosmos uses the English language.
