The IAF General Secretary, Wilko Vriesman, had a meeting with the Romanian Minister of Youth and Sport, Bogdan Matei, in Bucharest. One of the topics regarded the conditions a sport organization needs to comply with in order to be recognized by the government.
Unlike other activities, Aikido - member of GAISF (Global Association of International Sports Federations) - has no competitions, but as such has been recognized as sport within the European Union.
Following the meeting, the issue was successfully resolved.
