Gordon Jones Shihan is going to conduct a seminar in Athens, Greece on February 17-19, 2012, invited by the Hellenic Aikido Association. Jones Shihan began training in 1964 and was a founder member of the Aikikai of Great Britain (later to become the British Aikido Federation) and then the UKA. He was a National Coach with the BAF and represented the BAF at the International Aikido Federation (IAF) congress held in Paris in 1980.
Following the formation of the UKA in 1989, Jones Shihan became the Co-Principal of that organisation along with the late William Smith Shihan.
In 2003, he was promoted to 6th dan on recommendation from Kazuo Chiba Shihan. In 2007, Hombu Dojo awarded him the title of Shihan (master teacher). Jones Shihan is Technical Director of the Australasian Aikikai. He travels abroad regularly to give seminars
in Serbia and Greece.
Jones Shihan teaches at Ren Shin Kan and is qualified by the British Aikido Board as a Coach (Level 3) and a Young Persons’ Coach.
