Shihan Christian Tissier 7. Dan Aikikai will conduct an Aikido seminar in Athens, Greece on June 2 & 3, 2012. Shihan Tissier is invited every year by his student Mr. Vassilis Nykteris 4. Dan Aikikai. Mr. Nykteris is the founder and the leader of the Aikido Academy in Greece and Cyprus.
Shihan Christian Tissier (born in 1951, in Paris, France) is one of the most known Aikido teachers in the world. He started practicing Aikido in 1962 under Jean-Claude Tavernier and soon after, under Nakazono Mutsuro sensei (1918-1994). In 1969, Tissier sensei was relocated to Japan, where he lived for seven years. In Japan, he trained at the Aikikai Hombu, mainly under The Second Aikido Doshu Ueshiba Kisshomaru (1921-1999), Yamaguchi Seigo Shihan (1924-1996), Saotome Mitsugi Shihan and Osawa Kisaburo Shihan (1919-1991).
In the meanwhile, Shihan Tissier studied Japanese language, Kenjutsu and Kick Boxing, while he was teaching French at the French-Japanese Institute of Tokyo. In 1976, He returned to Paris and he founded the Circle Christian Tissier at Vincennes, from which many instructors have been issued and the majority of the members of the technical council of the F.F.A.A.A (Fédération Française Aïkido, Aïkibudo et Affinitaires) as well.
